Can you believe it's almost 2015? The start of the year officially marks my six years as a photographer. A random summary of my year includes photographing over 50 weddings, moving three times, fully refining my photographic style, meeting awesome new friends and clients, and jumping ship from Canon to Nikon. I photographed Natasha & Steve's engagement session (which can be seen here) a couple of month's ago and instantaneously fell in love with them. Natasha has an awesome style and loves photography, while Steve's from Ohio, and because I love photography & am from the Midwest as well, we naturally got along great. I couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous venue, as anything and everything was photogenic at all times of day. To top it off, the couple gave me full creative freedom to do what I want, so I was practically in heaven. I met Mariangela and Robbie through a mutual friend earlier this year and knew they would be a blast to photograph due to their amazing chemistry. After these two got warmed up to being in front of the camera, they rocked every portrait -- and it sure does show. A little back-story about this awesome couple: Mariangela is from Italy, so she of course has a big, close family. A few minutes spent talking with her and it's easy to realize how sweet and caring she really is. Robbie, although he appears as your typical Californian surfer, is an extremely driven entrepreneur that has created and owned all sorts of companies since his early 20s -- including a wedding photography studio. Their wedding, although sporting around 60 guests, was intimate in its own way due to the closeness of each and every guest, family member, and friend. I absolutely loved this elegant wedding set in downtown Carlsbad at the Carlsbad Seapointe Resort. Kristin & Chris were naturals in front of the camera, so of course these photos came out stunning! The gorgeous outdoor reception took place at Pelican Point in Carlsbad, which was right across the street from the venue, so it gave us extra time for some awesome beach photos at sunset. All I have to say is.. this wedding was a blast! We started off at The Lafayette Hotel in San Diego where the gorgeous bride, Marguerite, was getting ready. Immeadiately after, we headed down to the Spruce Street Suspension Bridge, where Marguerite & Nick decided to have their first look. After getting some fantastic portraits, we went to Balboa Park for their beautiful ceremony. We then headed to the San Diego Women's Club for their perfectly decorated reception. All I can say is, Marguerite & Nick were so so so fun to work with. Here are a selected handful of photos from their big day.
